Born in Colorado, educated in New Mexico, I’m now a Massachusetts-based artist dividing my efforts between music creation and recording, creative writing and journalism, and graphic design.
Over the last eleven years, I’ve worked as a multi-instrumentalist in solo artist, band leader, and collaborator roles on three very different musical projects: the eclectic rap experiment Initials B.R. (formerly known as Boo Radley), the indie-rock five-piece Marconi, and the art-rock trio Night Rally.
In addition to composing and performing, I’ve been producing, recording, and mixing the Initials B.R. and Marconi projects from their inception. This has led me into remix, composition, production, and recording work for a variety of other local artists as well as for commercial use.
Most of my independent writing work is guided by my musical pursuits. Diverse songwriting interests produce a variety of pop, rock, and rap lyrics. I develop the promotional copy for my recording projects, including bios and press releases. As a lifelong lover of music, I often write music criticism for online publication. In 2011, I transformed Diamond Igloo, my musical clearinghouse, into a music blog/record label hybrid.
I learned web design to create a simple web presence for my musical projects and became fascinated with the process. I now build and maintain websites for local businesses and artists that are easily navigable, and, of course, pretty. I tend to create websites with WordPress for content management, but work equally well in standard HTML and am experienced in CSS, PHP, and mySQL.
This portfolio showcases much of my recent work in each of these media, but it is not exhaustive. I’ve included performances here for which I’ve designed posters or for events that aren’t strictly for my bands (you can see full performance histories on their respective sites). And you can visit Diamond Igloo to peruse my writing for that publication.
